Today’s Fort Myers fishing charter report … we caught and released this nice black tip shark … five + feet, maybe six + feet … pretty big for a Captiva black tip … most of the time we catch them in the two – three foot range …

The bigger sharks we catch are usually bull sharks, lemon sharks, sand sharks and hammerhead sharks — hammerhead sharks can be very big … especially up in Boca Grande during tarpon season!

We’re based in Fort Myers, but our boats leave from Castaways Marina on the northern tip of Sanibel Island, and ‘Tween Waters and Jensen’s Marinas on Captiva Island, all about a half hour drive from Fort Myers.

Most of the time we’re within casting distance of land, fishing the mangroves, or the oyster bars or the passes; we’ll go out a mile or two into the bay or gulf if we’re looking for goliath grouper, or tarpon or sharks.

Let’s go on a Fort Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, North Captiva or Cayo Costa Island fishing or shelling guide trip.

Fair winds and following seas,

Captain Joey Burnsed and first mates Charlie and Hank …
